Officite Partners With Glidewell Dental Lab to Offer Dentists a Unique Website and Internet Marketing Solution for Attracting Snoring Patients

Nationally-recognized dental website design company, Officite, has recently announced its new partnership with Glidewell, industry-leading provider of dental lab services, to offer dentists a turnkey website and Google local search program for Glidewell’s new anti-snoring device—the aveoTSD.

The aveoTSD is Glidewell’s newest dental appliance for the treatment of snoring. Available to patients only by prescription from a dentist or physician, the aveoTSD is the simplest and least invasive device indicated for problem snoring. The appliance increases airway space by preventing the tongue from falling back in the throat, reducing air velocity and soft tissue vibrations and thereby reducing snoring.

“An estimated 80 million people in the United States are affected by chronic sleep disorders,” said Jim Shuck, Glidewell Vice President, Sales & Marketing. “Patients are searching the Web for snoring solutions, making it critical for any dentist offering treatment for snoring to have a strong online presence and a focused search marketing strategy that yields new patient leads.”

The new joint solution from Officite and Glidewell is offering dentists a cost-effective, unique turnkey solution for attracting snoring patients online. The package includes a well-branded aveoTSD dental website pre-loaded with anti-snoring information, aveoTSD patient friendly resources and videos, and an easy appointment requesting feature. Special pricing on this unique package is available for all dental professionals offering the aveoTSD.

The success of the new program is driven by the specialized Google search engine marketing campaign that targets prospective patients at the exact moment they are searching for snoring treatment in a dentist’s local neighborhood. Directed to the aveoTSD website and presented with a strong call to action, qualified leads will be compelled to pick up the phone to contact the practice for additional information about snoring treatment.

“In order to create a steady pipeline of snoring patients and increase case acceptance for the aveoTSD, today’s dentists need a focused marketing strategy, starting with a fully-functional website and a first page Google ranking," said Glenn Lombardi, President of Officite. “Our new turnkey package is exclusively designed to promote the aveoTSD at the exact moment a patient is searching for snoring treatment in your local area.”

About Officite: Officite is nationally recognized for its premier dentist website design and strategic online-marketing solutions for the dental community. Founded in 2002, more than 5,100 websites have been built and over 260,000 appointment requests have been generated for practices across the country. Officite offers powerful turnkey-marketing programs and proven Internet search services, including social networking, search engine optimization and pay-per-click advertising designed to educate and attract new patients while creating a prominent presence in the marketplace.

Glidewell Laboratories Debuts aveoTSD® Health Professional Patient Sizing Kit

Glidewell Laboratories, industry-leading provider of dental lab products and services, announced today the debut of the aveoTSD Health Professional Patient Sizing Kit.

This kit, helpful for in-office patient sizing of the aveoTSD, contains one small, one medium and one large aveoTSD (Tongue Stabilization Device); two Uni-Spacers, sized 4 mm and 7 mm, which can clip on to the aveoTSD for extra titration; and one autoclavable tray.

The aveoTSD, manufactured by Innovative Health Technologies and designed by Dental Sleep Medicine specialist Dr. Chris Robertson, is an anti-snoring aid that is worn on the tongue during sleep. It works by holding the tongue forward using gentle suction and is unique because, unlike other anti-snoring devices, it requires no impressions, no adjustments, no specialist fitting and has no moving parts.

Clinical case studies have shown that the medium aveoTSD fits 95 percent of patients. However, for the precise health professional who wants to ensure an adequate fit from the start, the aveoTSD Patient Sizing Kit allows the dentist or medical physician to try each size device on the patient to check for comfort and fit. For patients who need extra titration due to a long tongue, the 4 mm or 7 mm Uni-Spacer can be used to provide a more restful night’s sleep. After trying in each piece, place items back into the tray and autoclave, then reuse the kit minutes later.

Priced individually, the pieces included in the aveoTSD Health Professional Patient Sizing Kit total up to $489. But when purchased as a kit, dentists and medical physicians will pay just $269.

Pre-order the aveoTSD Patient Sizing Kit by calling 800-334-1979. The first orders will be shipped beginning September 24, 2010. For more information, visit getaveo.com.

Improve Patients' Quality of Life With aveoTSD® Anti-Snoring Device From Glidewell Dental Lab

Glidewell Dental Lab, provider of dental appliances for the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea, has successfully launched its newest product to dentists and patients: the aveoTSD. A simple, inexpensive anti-snoring device, the aveoTSD is an effective form of treatment for problem snoring. Available to patients through dentist, physician or medical specialist prescription, this easy-to-use, noninvasive anti-snoring aid improves health and quality of life.

An estimated 80 million people in the U.S. are affected by a chronic sleep disorder. Snoring is the most common and is caused by a narrowing of the upper airway during sleep. Large tonsils, a long uvula or excessive flabby tissue in the throat can contribute to this narrowing. Additionally, lifestyle factors such as being overweight, consuming alcohol and using tobacco can facilitate snoring. Age also plays a part, with 60 percent of men and 40 percent of women between the ages of 41 and 65 suffering from habitual snoring, according to the National Institutes of Health.

However, the most common cause of the narrowing of the upper airway is a tongue muscle that becomes too relaxed during sleep. When relaxed, the tongue gets sucked back into the throat and causes an obstruction in the airway. When air travels rapidly through the narrowed airway, it causes the relaxed soft tissues of the throat to vibrate. It is this vibration that creates the sound of snoring.

Habitual snoring, in which the tongue is completely sucked against the back of the throat and blocks breathing, can pose serious health risks. Snorers can experience symptoms such as fragmented sleep, dry mouth, morning headaches, memory deficit, depression, nocturia and nighttime reflux. Snoring also reduces blood oxygen levels, resulting in high blood pressure and increased stroke risk. It can also be a sign of diabetes.

What's more, quality of life is impacted negatively by chronic snoring. Snoring reduces deep, quality restorative sleep, which leads to extreme tiredness during the day. This daytime sleepiness affects personal, intellectual and physical performance.

Today, many patients are turning to medical professionals to seek relief from snoring. Luckily, they can find relief for problem snoring by visiting their dentist, physician or a medical specialist. Traditional anti-snoring appliances such as mandibular advancement devices are custom made to fit the upper and lower teeth. They work by positioning the lower jaw forward, moving the base of the tongue forward and opening the airway. While effective, these devices are not indicated for patients with TMJ/TMD and bite problems and those who are edentulous. Surgery on the upper airway is invasive; the surgical success rate is often unpredictable and, as with any surgical procedure, it is not without risks.

The new aveoTSD offers an alternative to these traditional treatments. It is the simplest and least invasive device indicated for problem snoring and can be used for the treatment of simple snoring in both dentate and edentulous patients because it does not attach to the teeth. The aveoTSD anti-snoring device works by attaching to the end of the tongue using negative suction, holding the tongue forward during sleep. This ensures the airway stays open. The device increases airway space by preventing the tongue from falling back in the throat, reducing air velocity and soft tissue vibrations and thereby reducing snoring. Cephalometric and videoendoscopy studies have established that tongue protrusion creates a greater increase inoropharyngeal, velopharyngeal and hypopharyngeal cross-sectional areas of the upper airway, hence improving airway patency and function, helping those with chronic snoring to sleep sounder and breathe easier.

Developed through more than five years of clinical research by Dr. Chris Robertson, a Dental Sleep Medicine specialist, aveoTSD requires no impressions, no adjustments and has no moving parts. Available by prescription from a dentist, physician or medical specialist, the aveoTSD offers immediate relief to patients who snore. And because it doesn't sit over dentition, it can be given to the patient on the same day they inquire about treatment. It is made from ISO 10993 medical-grade silicone and available in three sizes, though 95 percent of patients can comfortably wear the medium-size device. This ease of fit represents another advancement in the treatment of snoring.

Glidewell Laboratories is the exclusive U.S. distributor of the aveoTSD. For more information on aveoTSD, including fitting procedures, care instructions and how to order, visit www.getaveo.com or call 800-334-1979.

Glidewell Dental Lab Becomes Exclusive U.S. Distributor of aveoTSD® Anti-Snoring Device

Glidewell Dental Lab, an industry-leading provider of dental lab services, has secured exclusive U.S. distribution rights to the anti-snoring device aveoTSD. Glidewell Dental Lab now offers this product, which holds the promise to dramatically improve the health of millions of Americans, to dentists and medical physicians across the U.S.

Snoring is caused by the narrowing of the upper airway during sleep. When the airway is blocked – due to large tonsils and uvula, a soft palate, or over-relaxed muscles or tongue falling back into the oropharynx – air travels faster through the narrowed airway, causing the relaxed tissues of the throat to vibrate. This vibration is the sound of snoring.

Snoring affects an estimated 40 percent of the population, with that percentage increasing for people over the age of 50. More than half of the snoring population is not even aware that they suffer from this potentially life-threatening condition. Snoring is commonly triggered by a number of factors: being overweight, nasal congestion, smoking, alcohol or heavy sedatives. Patients who suffer from snoring may report stopped breathing during sleep, chronic fatigue, morning headaches or poor memory, nocturnal reflux/GERD and nocturia. Left untreated, snoring can lead to serious health risks including high blood pressure, stroke, cardiovascular disease and heart failure.

The good news is that snoring is treatable through the use of many anti-snoring devices. Mandibular Advancement Splints are custom-made to fit the upper and lower teeth. They work by positioning the lower jaw forward, moving the base of the tongue forward and opening the airway. While effective, these devices are not indicated for patients with TMJ/bite problems and those who are edentulous.

The aveoTSD is the simplest form of treatment for snoring. Developed through more than five years of clinical research by Dr. Chris Robertson, a specialist of Dental Sleep Medicine, the aveoTSD requires no impressions and no adjustments. It is not tooth borne, so it is indicated for virtually anyone looking for a restful night’s sleep. Because of its simplistic nature, aveoTSD is both easy to use and effective. TSD stands for Tongue Stabilizing Device, and that’s exactly how it works.

The aveoTSD attaches to the tongue through gentle suction, holding the tongue forward during sleep. This ensures the airway stays open and allows ease of breathing through the night. Dentists and medical physicians can find step-by-step instructions for fitting the aveoTSD device at getaveo.com.

Made of medical-grade silicone, the aveoTSD is available in three sizes: small, medium and large. Ninety-five percent of patients will fit the medium size. Titration rings are also available in 5 mm and 9 mm sizes, to increase tongue protrusion for increased airway volume.

Feedback from early U.S. adopters of aveoTSD is positive:

"I've never been able to wear a nightguard because of my existing issues with TMJ. No matter how many hours of sleep I get at night, I always feel drowsy and often rely on energy drinks to get me through the day.

"My doctor recommended and prescribed aveoTSD. I took it home and gave it a try, even following the recommendations to wear it before I went to sleep to get used to the feeling. Sleeping with a device in my mouth was a new experience for me, but it was surprisingly comfortable.

"As a result, I woke up this morning and for the first time felt no need to drink an energy drink before heading into morning traffic. And when the hour of my afternoon low approached, I had no urgent need for an energy drink to keep from yawning. I'm looking forward to wearing the aveoTSD the night before a round of golf -- we'll see if the scores drop, too!

Thank you for helping me get the sleep I never really knew I was missing."

~Phil G.

And:

"I recently began using the aveoTSD after talking to my doctor about my troubles sleeping. Since I started using it, I am actually sleeping through the night! My husband tells me that I am snoring less and my breathing sounds easier. A benefit I hadn't anticipated is that this appliance seems to be keeping me from clenching my teeth. Plus, my jaw and neck feel better. The aveoTSD is really improving the quality of my life."

~Kelly B.

The aveoTSD requires a dentist or medical physician prescription and can be issued on the same day a patient agrees to treatment for snoring. Glidewell Dental Lab is proud to offer this life-changing product.
